The service that differentiates Rinfresca most. Rather than sending a worker to your home for a few hours, Micro-respite meets families where you already go for routine activities — pairing caregiver and dependant activities at the same partner facility, at the same time.

• ✓At an Allied Health or Disability Centre: dependant in occupational therapy while caregiver has a foot reflexology session, facial massage or foot bath
• ✓At a Gym: caregiver does fitness, pilates, yoga or spa while dependant joins art therapy or music therapy
• ✓Booked as a paired slot — one booking, two simultaneous experiences

Caregivers regenerate through spa treatments, nature walks, group workshops and nutritional therapy — or sporting and cultural activities if they want a more stimulating break. At the same time, family members with disability and their siblings receive tailored support from professional workers in parallel capacity building activities.

Set your well-being goals and learn portable stress management and performance enhancement techniques inspired by no limits free-diving and adapted to the context of family life with special needs. Based on the principle that certain bodily sensations are associated with specific changes in the body. Guided exercises for a skill to harness towards increased energy recovery, self-induced calm through relaxation, and recurring stress management.

At each retreat — and on request to schools, museums, day centres and companies — the family/team comes together to create an artwork that expresses care needs that too often stay latent. The works are exhibited online and in galleries through Our Right to Respite, a self-advocacy exhibition supporting an international collaborative network for the rights of people with disability.
